Being Busy or Being Christian...?

I have been working fulltime, going to school fulltime, and doing ministry.  I used to think that this is what God has called me to do.  After a couple months I am saying, this cannot be it.  I am always tired and certain things get neglected.  In the midst of this craziness I sometimes do not know what to do.  Then it hits me.  What really satisfies is God himself.  We sometimes get caught up in "doing" that we forget about just being.  CHristianity isn't something we do, but are.  Seeking God takes time.  Half hour to hours a day.  But if you do, the blessings overflow, even in the midst of being busy.

Long time.  SO many things changed!  I do not know where to begin.  Well, I am working the night shift and go to school fulltime.  Things are crazy busy.  Enough bout me, I want to talk bout others.

Through experience and studies, I have believe that parents/adults do not believe young people now a days accomplish much.  I guess it is due to the lack of discipline that modern youth have today.  You see this type of thinking in the church too.  Church leaders look at youth as "need to teach them" people.  It is interesting that I see some youth in line with God's Will than most adults.  1 Tim 4:12-16 tells young people to take a stand in the faith.  DO not let elders put you down because you are young.  Young people are to be a role-model to elders.  CAn you believe that?  Those who are young or "young at heart,"  I encourage you to be a model to elders.  Live in godliness.

Forgive my grammar.  It is 545am and I am tired.  I have 15 mins till my shift is over.

It's Been a Long Time

I have not written on here in months.  What is new?  Many... but I cannot remember everything.  I will mention that I graduated with my MDiv.  It was a long hard process but it is finished.  Now it is time for relaxing this summer and just enjoy hangin with FLAME youth ministry.

Christians, it is a sweet meditation when you can say, he that made all things is there. - Thomas Manton

I have not written anything since last year.  It is great to be back on this sunny Saturday morning.  Anyways, our youth is probably heading to Battle Cry/Aquire the Fire in Detroit.  KJ-52, Jeremy Camp, Cross Movement, Pillar, and others are going to be there.  It is in April, so if you interested...

Today I was reading Matthew 7.  It reminded me of a couple of things.  I would think that the most famous verse in the Bible is John 3:16.  In our culture, I think that is no longer true.  Matthew 7:1 has to be the verse of our culture, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."  The culture wants to do it's own thing without anyone making a comment about their lifestyle or actions.  If you do, they will pull out the Matthew 7 passage and say "How dare you judge me?!  Who are you anyway!?"  What is interesting is that the culture judges things all the time.  Here are some:  "Bush is WRONG, We SHOULD NOT be in Iraq, They SHOULD put the murderer behind bars, It is WRONG to steal, etc..."  What a confused world we live in.

In actuality, Matt 7's "judging" deals with self-righteous judging.  The type of judging that is not beneficial but made so that you look better than the other person being judged.  You know this because later on in the passage you have to make a judgment concerning "pigs" and "dogs" and concerning false prophets.
